Juruaia (MG), the Lingerie Capital of Brazil, is home to around 400 intimate apparel companies, 90% run by women, which produce about 20 million pieces a year, roughly 15% of the segment's national output, and generate more than R$ 15 million in revenue per month (Agência Minas, 2025). State Law 25,181/2025 created the Polo de Moda e Lingerie de Juruaia e Região (Juruaia Fashion and Lingerie Cluster), covering 14 municipalities. Brazil exported US$ 206 million in apparel in 2025, and the Mercosur–European Union agreement, provisionally applied since May 2026, eliminates tariffs on industrial goods within up to 10 years.
